Celebrating National Family Business Day

Culture Eats Strategy For Breakfast

Join us on 23rd September live at the Culloden Hotel at 8.30am where you will enjoy a delicious breakfast supplied by some of NI's leading family firms and hear from Sam Davidson, Group HR Director at Henderson Group, one of NI's largest privately owned employers.

Sam will be talking to Richard Buckley, Editor of Business Eye Magazine about how the firm has created an award winning workplace and culture for over 4000 employees. Ian Smyth from Ulster University will also be sharing some insights from our recent All Ireland family business survey which was the first to include employees of family firms as well as owners and founders.

We are delighted to champion the family business sector throughout the year, but each year we host a national day, bringing the UK family business community together to celebrate as one the impact that they have.

2021 has not been a normal year and with so much uncertainty and implications for business created by the global pandemic, never has there been a time better suited to bring everyone together across the country to celebrate the role that family firms play.

National Family Business Day is a great way for the community to work as one voice in raising the profile of the sector, showcasing the diversity of family firms, the history and heritage that are the very essence of family firms and to highlight the continued innovation, investment and entrepreneurship demonstrated by family businesses, young and old, to remain relevant as a business today.

With around 5 million family firms in the UK employing around 13 million people, we truly believe that the family business sector is one that deserves to be celebrated and we look forward to engaging with you this year as we seek to put family firms on the map.
