It is often said that family owned businesses show more resilience than most! When things get tough they have an ability roll up their sleeves and get on with things in a way that is different from other firms.
But it always pays to be prepared. So the topic for our autumn forum is ‘Resilient and Ready: Surviving and Thriving in Uncertain Times’.
We hope this will be an energising session – the format will be our usual mix of presentations, discussions and interactive sessions, followed by our networking family business dinner.
Vicki will share her family business story of resilience and how she has grown the 103 year old business, now Ireland’s largest packaging company, despite great adversity.
The focus here is the external business environment and the impact uncertainty can and is having on the family business sector. Business Eye’s Richard Buckley will lead a panel discussion with local business leaders and experts to hear their experiences of surviving and thriving in an uncertain business environment.
We will wrap the forum with a focus on the internal resilience of family businesses through effective communication. You will be in safe hands with Una who is the only Approved Trainer with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) in Ireland. During this practical session you’ll learn to become a more effective communicator and ultimately leader, by recognising the variety of communication styles used by the animals in your ‘zoo’ and adapting your strategy accordingly.
