Services to Charities

We provide general accountancy support to charities and support the sector by hosting events to highlight new developments and opportunities.

We not only have many years’ experience working within the third sector, but dedicated members of our team actually sit on the boards of local charities.

That’s how we make sure we understand the needs of the sector, keep abreast of new developments and establish strong working relationships.

Areas where we can help:

  • Preparation of accounts (SORP)
  • Statutory Audits
  • Grant Audits
  • VAT & Tax advice
  • Strategic Business Planning
  • Personnel Issues
  • Marketing
  • Incorporation
  • Payroll
  • Training

Regular Events

Throughout the year we host a number of events  which provide an open forum for charities, NFPs and social enterprises to network and debate issues and concerns.

We also use them to highlight sectoral challenges/opportunities such as charity funding, governance, innovation and the increasing powers of the Charity Commission NI. Read about a recent charity event Harbinson Mulholland took part in entitled A Whole New World - Understanding the new reality for charity reporting.

Listen to our podcast in which James Fair discusses the accounting responsibilities all Charity Directors and Trustees must adhere to under the new Statements of Recommended Practice (SORP).

What our clients say

"We have worked with Harbinson Mulholland to develop top class systems and procedures to ensure we are operating the charity and the associated business in an efficient and effective way".
