Latest NI Family Business Forum proves to be a hit

We are very grateful to all the guests, speakers and panel members who came together to make yesterday's NI Family Business Forum another great success.

Hosted in the Malone Lodge, a family run hotel in south Belfast, the day brought together a diverse range of family businesses from across Northern Ireland.

Simon Hunter from Hunter Apparel Solutions Ltd was the first speaker of the event, taking us through the background and transformation his business underwent with the help of a Non-Executive Director (NED). It was an honest and informative presentation that got proceedings off to a great start.

A panel discussion on the value of NED’s followed with Michael McQuillan from Ulster University facilitating the conversation. The high calibre of the panel ensured that the quality of the advice and insights shared were genuinely valuable to the audience. Our thanks to Simon Hunter, Hunter Apparel Solutions Ltd, Geraldine Gordon, Bryan Keating, CIP Partnership, Paul Black, Alpha Group and our very own Paul Mulholland.

The final item on the agenda was an on-stage interview conducted by Richard Buckley from Business Eye with Norman and Andrew Lynas from Lynas Foodservice. Richards’s relaxed style ensured a fantastic interview; Norman and Andrew spoke candidly and with great humour about their succession process and what they learned from the experience.

Our thanks again to everyone who made the latest forum event such a memorable day!
