Family Business United the voice of the global family business community has joined forces with Harbinson Mulholland’s NI Family Business Forum in partnership to support and champion local family businesses as well as offer an invaluable insight into the sector along with an array of useful resources.
Paul Andrews, Founder of Family Business United commented that working together will help us to put family businesses in Northern Ireland front and centre and ensure that they are recognised for the contribution they make.
“We are delighted to welcome the NI Family Business Forum to our innovative family business community. With more than 6 million family firms across the UK providing more than 13 million jobs, generating income, and creating wealth, not to mention their contribution to the communities in which they are based, we champion their endeavours, and it is fantastic to be working with the team at Harbinson Mulholland who share our passion for the sector.
“Family businesses are the backbone of economies around the world and will be an integral part of post-covid recovery and deserve all the support that we can provide,” said Paul.
Darren McDowell, Senior Partner at Harbinson Mulholland welcomed the new partnership saying:
“It has only been 5 years since we established the NI Family Business Forum and, in that time, with the support of our academic partners at the Ulster University and Dublin City University we have continued to build a solid reputation and track record of helping family firms maximise financial performance whilst balancing commercial challenges and family obligations.
“Our platform not only provides an opportunity to converse and network with other family-owned businesses and host exclusive regular events, but this new partnership allows us to offer members and all local family businesses access to more content including helpful tips, guides, advice from a global family business community perspective.
“The last 18 months have been challenging for all in this arena especially since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, resilience, survival, hard work and determination are all qualities that have been demonstrated by many family firms to navigate the global health crisis as well as other ongoing economic factors,” said Darren.
